Timeshare consumer case resolved – example
A timeshare owner aged 78, who was also suffering from medical ailments that restricted his ability to travel contacted us to say that he had been cold called by ‘Solutions for Timeshare’. After making an appointment with them, he then saw details of the ASA ruling upholding a complaint made against them by KwikChex as part of the Timeshare Task Force initiative – and made contact to double-check.
This owner was actually an owner with a RDO member company. His circumstances met the exit criteria of RDO and after some rapid facilitation, he has now been informed of this and will be able to relinquish without any cost.
This is a classic case of how consumers can benefit from the actions being taken and free assistance by the Timeshare TaskForce. We urge all timeshare owners contacted by a cold call to seek further advice – including double-checking even our responses with organisations such as Citizens Advice Bureau and The European Consumer Centre.
Note – there are no fees whatsoever charged to consumers seeking help regarding timeshare and related products by Timeshare Task Force (managed by KwikChex). This is a free service.
