Timeshare consumer case resolved – example


Mrs G contacted Timeshare Task Force after she had been cold called by a company offering to relinquish her timeshare for a fee of approximately £3,000. Timeshare Task Force advised not to deal with this company on the grounds that their contracts and methods contravene Unfair Commercial Practices laws – and that the owners of the business and other businesses they also owned have previously been the subject of actions by the UK authorities. Timeshare Task Force then liaised with her timeshare company directly and they advised that relinquishment was acceptable given that Mrs G was over 70 and had been diagnosed as disabled. and had extreme difficulty travelling. The monies paid to the ‘timeshare relinquishment company’ are now being pursued for a full refund.
